Homemade Razor-Bump Remedy

This remedy was taken from "Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me, by Paula Begoun
It helps sooth and relieve razor bumps on the face, body or bikini area.

Its a good idea to mix the ingredients fresh every because as with most home remedies they will not stay fresh and potent for long

Ingredients for homemade remedy:

3 drops glycerin (available at any drugstore or chemist)
1/4 cup water
2 uncoated aspirin
1. Mix ingredients in a bowl until aspirin dissolves.
2. Apply this soothing toner to affected areas with a cotton ball, and let it sink into your skin.

Homemade remedy mask:

crush 4-5 uncoated aspirin and mix with water so that it resemble a paste. Apply it to the face like a mask (5-10 mins) and and then gently rub off. If its too drying you can add moisturiser like aloe vera (very cooling), or honey ( antiseptic properties) or your own moisteriser.

Why it works

The key ingredient in these homemade remedyis aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid), which is derived from salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid which is used is many skin care products to exfioliate skin cells, and to treate razor bumps and ingrowing hairs..

Aspirin has s anti-inflammatory properties, reduces swelling and helps with mild infection. It retains these benefits when applied to the skin

Warning
Aspirin should not be used by persons with known allergy to aspirin, or anyone with a bleeding disorder, or who is taking blood thinning drugs (anticoagulants).
